Dear Friends,
First, thanks to all who participated in the “Worship Review” last Sunday. The confirmation class members were happily surprised that so many of you were willing to do what they have been doing. Your input will be part of our discussion at the upcoming Confirmation Lock-In when we consider the topic of worship. Thanks for being good sports!
This Sunday is the last of the “Why?” series and the topic is “Why God’s Love Prevails”. Many of you have participated in the conversation through our new 10:30 Sunday school class for adults, the Tuesday evening study group, and the Wednesday morning men’s meetings, not to mention conversations in the hall and parking lot. This is the blessing of community, that we share our thoughts, experiences and faith with each other.
Speaking of the 10:30 adult Sunday school class, that class will continue using a Lenten series called “Call Him Savior” which will also be repeated on Tuesday evenings at 7. Please feel free to join either group beginning Sunday Feb. 26 or Tuesday Feb. 28.
This weekend is the “Love for a Lifetime” marriage enrichment retreat in Ocean City. Please pray for safe travel and a time of blessing for all who are attending.
Don’t forget to plan to have dinner at church next Tuesday, Shrove Tuesday. This is the day before Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. Pancakes are traditionally served because they include eggs, milk and sugar, foodstuffs avoided during the season of Lent in some cultures.
